ABOUT TRIGGER POINT
Trigger points are painful when pressed on, cause a shortening of the muscle fibers, and have a special property called referred pain. Referred pain means that a trigger point in one muscle can create pain in another area. For example, when the muscle at the top of your shoulder (trapezius) has a trigger point it will refer pain up the side of your neck and head causing a headache.
Have you ever feel little knots just under your skin? If you are dealing with it, first, don't panic. Trigger points are benign and pose no significant danger to you or your health. They simply cause pain which may give you stiffness and tension, physical limitation and loss of normal function. Some lucky people feel no pain or discomfort, when pressing on trigger points.
